Day 4 at the WTA event in Strasbourg will provide plenty of exciting action, with all four quarterfinal matches being played. It’s a chance for the players remaining to keep fine tuning their game ahead of Roland Garros next week but, more importantly, a great chance to grab a WTA title with no top 20 players in the draw to contend with.
WTA Strasbourg Day 4 Predictions
Anna Blinkova vs Emma Navarro
Head-to-head: first meeting
Both players have been playing very well so far this week and will be confident of their chances of going all the way. That said, on this surface, Navarro should theoretically have the slight edge even if this is a match that can and should go the distance.
Prediction: Navarro in 3
Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova vs Lauren Davis
Head-to-head: Pavlyuchenkova 3-1 Davis
Despite her very low ranking outside the top 400, it’s Pavlyuchenkova who comes in as a favorite here. Her ranking is a product of injury, not ability, and she’s likely to return to the top 50 soon enough. The comeback trail won’t be easy but she has been playing good tennis this week and should be able to continue advancing through the draw here.
Prediction: Pavlyuchenkova in 3

Varvara Gracheva vs Elina Svitolina
Head-to-head: Svitolina 1-0 Gracheva
Svitolina won when the pair faced at the 2020 French Open, but things are very different now. She’s struggling to make her way back up the rankings while Gracheva is knocking on the door of the Top 40 in the rankings and should, at this point, be able to prevail in this matchup.
Prediction: Gracheva in 2
Clara Burel vs Bernarda Pera
Head-to-head: first meeting
Pera is the highest ranked player left in the draw and therefore perhaps the slight favorite to take the title this week, but Burel has been playing well this week, is playing at home and will surely be confident of her chances of making it to the semifinals here. It should be a far tighter matchup than the rankings would suggest.
Prediction: Pera in 3
