ATP Munich Day 2 Predictions Including Quentin Halys vs Lorenzo Sonego

Quentin Halys National Bank Open

Day 2 at the ATP event in Munich will feature plenty of exciting and unpredictable action; although the top players in the world are mostly either in Barcelona or resting for Madrid, Munich still boasts a very good and competitive field that should provide plenty of high quality tennis throughout the week.

ATP Munich Day 2 Predictions

Marton Fucsovics vs Max Hans Rehberg

Head-to-head: first meeting
The young German will have homecourt advantage, but aside from that every single factor seems to point to a Fucsovics win. Rehberg has been struggling to win consistently even at Challenger and Futures level and he should not be a match against a veteran of the circuit like Fucsovics, even in theoretically his worst surface.
Prediction: Fucsovics in 2

Christopher O’Connell vs Ugo Humbert

Head-to-head: first meeting
On a hard court, you’d maybe favor Humbert in this matchup, but on clay it’s very difficult to call. Neither player is particularly comfortable on the surface and the winner of this one is unlikely to go deep this week. That said, O’Connell has generally looked to be in better form lately and might have the slightest of edges here.
Prediction: O’Connell in 3

Alexander Ritschard vs Jan-Lennard Struff

Head-to-head: first meeting
Struff is quietly having a solid season and he’s just off an amazing week in Monte Carlo, where he beat Casper Ruud and made the quarterfinals, only losing to eventual champion Andrey Rublev. He got a very kind draw here in Munich as well and will be aiming to have another strong run at his home event.

Prediction: Struff in 2

Quentin Halys vs Lorenzo Sonego

Head-to-head: first meeting
Another very even match on paper. Sonego is generally the better player of the two but he’s not been having a good season at all so far, while Halys has just reached his first career ATP semifinal in Estoril a couple weeks ago. It’s very hard to call this one, but Halys might just have the slight edge.
Prediction: Halys in 3
