WTA Miami Day 6 Predictions Including Barbora Krejcikova vs Madison Keys

Barbora Krejcikova ahead of WTA Birmingham

The schedule for WTA Day 6 of the 2023 Miami Open kinda reads like a list of Slam champions and finalists. There are so many exciting matches ahead and one of them is Barbora Krejcikova taking on Madison Keys. Will the Czech be able to prove she’s been in the same league as Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina, or Iga Swiatek this year? Who do you think will advance? We also predict the rest of the day’s matches in a separate article.

WTA Miami Day 6 Predictions

Karolina Pliskova vs Marketa Vondrousova

Head-to-head: Pliskova 3-0

Karolina Pliskova has never lost a set to Marketa Vondrousova, which includes their meeting in Dubai earlier this year. It’s not a streak that’s likely to last forever as the two are just way too close to each other in terms of their level. But it does signify that Pliskova’s well-equipped to handle the lefty game of her compatriot, so she probably deserves the benefit of the doubt ahead of this one as well.

Bianca Andreescu vs Sofia Kenin

Head-to-head: Andreescu 3-1

Bianca Andreescu is still a bit of a mess, but was able to prevail in deciding sets over Emma Raducanu and Maria Sakkari here. She actually played Sofia Kenin in Miami already, defeating her in the 2019 edition. Both players have a Grand Slam title under their belt and can achieve ridiculous things in this sport, but the Canadian is the one who can still turn on her peak level at will sometimes.

Petra Kvitova vs Donna Vekic

Head-to-head: Kvitova 3-1

Donna Vekic suddenly cooled off a fair bit during the Sunshine Double, losing to Lesia Tsurenko in Indian Wells and barely getting through Madison Brengle in the opening round here. Petra Kvitova is a very different opponent compared to these two stylistically, but she’s also much more dangerous on the offense. The Czech is quietly putting together a very impressive campaign in 2023 and could keep it going.

Barbora Krejcikova vs Madison Keys

Head-to-head: Keys 1-0

Madison Keys gave Barbora Krejcikova just five games when they played at the Australian Open last year, but the Czech is playing at an amazing level this year. This is a pretty exciting matchup with Keys possessing the sort of power to beat anyone on her day. Krejcikova is one of the best disruptors on tour though and has an extremely versatile skillset. Maybe it will be her key advantage, but it’s not clear at all.
Prediction: Krejcikova in 3
