ATP Rotterdam Day 3 Predictions
Round of 32
Benjamin Bonzi vs Jannik Sinner
Head to head – Bonzi 0-2 Sinner
Jannik Sinner enters this tournament as one of the favorites on the back of his title-winning run in Montpellier, France just last week. He opens his campaign against a player he’s beaten twice before in as many meetings. Benjamin Bonzi has played at a decent level this year but the Italian looks too strong at the moment.
Prediction: Sinner in 2
Alex de Minaur vs Andrey Rublev
Head to head – de Minaur 2-1 Rublev
This is an interesting match to predict the winner. Andrey Rublev is seeded second here but has one of the toughest first round opponents possible. Alex de Minaur will fancy his chances as he’s beaten the Russian twice in three occasions but did lose the most recent one. Both players had a decent Australian Open campaign but the conditions here are fast which should suit Rublev more. Expect a slugfest of a match with the Russian just edging this one.
Prediction: Rublev in 3
Round of 16
Grigor Dimitrov vs Hubert Hurkacz
Head to head – Dimitrov 2-0 Hurkacz
Another great matchup this. Both players have had time to settle in Rotterdam and judging by their first round matches, Grigor Dimitrov looks in great nick. Hubert Hurkacz did survive a titanic battle culminating with a third set tiebreaker against Roberto Bautista Agut and his task only gets tougher from there onwards. Dimitrov leads the head to head 2-0 winning both in third set breakers and in all likelihood this match seems to be heading that way. Expect Dimitrov to notch up a fine win here.
Prediction: Dimitrov in 3
Richard Gasquet vs Stan Wawrinka
Head to head – Gasquet 3-1 Wawrinka
Both players have played some stupendous matches in their four match long rivalry and what a pleasure it’ll be to see one of those repeat itself. Stan Wawrinka is still hanging in there and is a treat to watch when he’s in full flight. The Swiss three time Grand Slam champion was certainly playing well in his first round match here and now a familiar foe awaits. Richard Gasquet has beaten Wawrinka three times and the 36-year-old Frenchman still has the game to win titles. That being said, Rotterdam is probably not the place where Wawrinka should have trouble dictating points and that should be the key to this match.
Prediction: Wawrinka in 2
