ATP Pune Quarterfinal Predictions

Aslan Karatsev vs Pedro Martinez

Head to head – First Meeting

Pedro Martinez has had a good run so far this week but the Spaniard will face his toughest test yet in the form of Aslan Karatsev, who is playing close to his top form. The Russian has done well to come through in straight sets in the second round and he’ll be looking to get some much-needed momentum before the first grand slam of the year. Expect Martinez to put up a valiant effort but the Russian looks too strong in this matchup.
Prediction: Karatsev in 2

Benjamin Bonzi vs Filip Krajinovic

Head to head – First Meeting

Benjamin Bonzi has dominated both his matches before the quarter-finals while Filip Krajinovic has struggled against lower ranked opponents so far. This is an interesting matchup and even more so because they are facing each other for the first time. Expect a tight battle throughout with the Frenchman starting strong but as the match progresses, the Serb should find his range and wrestle control of the match.
Prediction: Krajinovic in 3

Maximilian Marterer vs Botic van de Zandschulp

Head to head – First Meeting

The second seed this week, Botic van de Zandschulp, will be looking to put up a statement performance before the Australian Open–and judging by his first-round match, the Dutchman looks dialed in. He now takes on Maximilian Marterer who had a good match against Laslo Djere but the German has been guilty of firing hot and cold previously and it’s unlikely he will be able to hold a good level to unsettle the Dutchman.
Prediction: van de Zandschulp in 2

Marin Cilic vs Tallon Griekspoor

Head to head – First Meeting

Marin Cilic didn’t have it easy in his first round match needing three sets to win. The top seed will need to settle his game quickly as he will have no easy opponents from here on. Tallon Griekspoor has looked good this but going head to head with the Croat from the baseline is easier said than done. Expect Cilic to be at his dominating best and move on.
Prediction: Cilic in 2
