ATP Swiss Indoors Basel Quarterfinal Predictions

Arthur Rinderknech vs Holger Rune

Head to head – Rinderknech 1-1 Rune

Holger Rune is in fine form entering this match. He along with several other quarterfinalists have chalked up a bulk of wins post US Open. Arthur Rinderknech is slowly getting there as well but his opponent is fresh off of a title in Stockholm. The Frenchman will have his task cut out as the young Dane is playing some scintillating tennis. Expect Rune to continue his form and earn a well deserved semifinal spot.

Roberto Bautista Agut vs Stan Wawrinka

Head to head – Bautista Agut 1-1 Wawrinka

Stan Wawrinka is enjoying home support to the fullest in what may be his last ever Basel appearance. The Swiss veteran looked at his vintage best at times in a tight match against Brandon Nakashima but his task gets tougher from here on as he faces Roberto Bautista Agut, a player who is still very consistent on tour. The Spaniard put up a statement performance against Andy Murray and his game suits the quick Basel courts. Expect Wawrinka to fight till the very end but Bautista Agut looks good to get the win here.

Felix Auger-Aliassime vs Alexander Bublik

Head to head – Auger-Aliassime 1-1 Bublik

Alexander Bublik has played well in the tournaments since US Open but unfortunately for him, he now takes on a player who’s in even better form since the last grand slam of the year. Felix Auger-Aliassime is seeking a third title on the trot and he looks absolutely primed to do so. His second round rout of Miomir Kecmanovic spells doom for his opponents and also signals the Canadian is hungry for more success. Expect Auger-Aliassime to dominate on his serve and be super aggressive any chance he gets.
Prediction: Auger-Aliassime in 2

Carlos Alcaraz vs Pablo Carreno Busta

Head to head – Alcaraz 1-0 Carreno Busta

Carlos Alcaraz will be happy to put up a performance worthy of the number one player in the world against a tricky opponent in Botic van de Zandschulp. He faces fellow Spaniard Pablo Carreno Busta who has already lost to the young sensation and on the quick indoor courts of Basel, Alcaraz should be a handful once again. Carreno Busta is a solid base liner but there exists a power differential from the baseline which is tough to overcome for the elder Spaniard. Expect Alcaraz to potentially set up a mouth watering clash against Felix Auger-Aliassime.
Prediction: Alcaraz in 2
