Round of 32

Alex de Minaur vs Holger Rune

Head to head – de Minaur 0-1 Rune

The second installment of this matchup should be extremely exciting to watch. Both players are young and already in the top 30 with Holger Rune enjoying a breakthrough year on the tour. Alex de Minaur has already played a lot this year but he is one of the fittest guys on tour so that shouldn’t be an issue for the rest of the year. These two met recently in the tournament in Stockholm which Rune edged in a tight third set. Expect more of the same with the in form Rune continuing to display great tennis.
Prediction: Rune in 3

Felix Auger-Aliassime vs Marc-Andrea Huesler

Head to head – First Meeting

Felix Auger-Aliassime seems to be enjoying the post US Open swing nabbing two titles on the trot and gearing up to win a third consecutive one. The Canadian possesses almost every shot in the book and with the big serve that he has, it’s tough seeing him not make a deep run again this week. He takes on the wildcard Marc-Andrea Huesler who can be a dangerous floater at times but it’s unlikely he’ll cause the upset here.
Prediction: Auger-Aliassime in 2

Round of 16

Alex Molcan vs Arthur Rinderknech

Head to head – First Meeting

Alex Molcan did well to stop the winless streak he was on since the US Open by taking out a decent opponent in Mackenzie McDonald but his task gets even tougher as he now takes on an in form Arthur Rinderknech. The Frenchman is on a fine run post US Open and his first round ousting of Marin Cilic indicates he intends to continue doing so. Expect the Frenchman to dominate this match and progress further.
Prediction: Rinderknech in 2

Carlos Alcaraz vs Botic van de Zandschulp

Head to head – Alcaraz 1-0 van de Zandschulp

Carlos Alcaraz has cooled off a bit since his first Grand Slam win in New York. It’ll be worth remembering that the Spaniard is still very young and it can take some time for him to process the things happening around him. What is not in doubt though is the fighting ability of Alcaraz and that’s what will separate him in moments like these. The Spaniard struggled in his first-round match but he found a way to win and as long as he keeps doing that he should be fine. He takes on Botic van de Zandschulp, a player he’s already beaten with relative ease and the Spaniard is a far better player since. Expect Alcaraz to to put up a statement performance.
Prediction: Alcaraz in 2
