WTA Parma Day 3 Predictions Including Irina-Camelia Begu vs Matilde Paoletti

This set of WTA Parma day 3 predictions is headline by #3 seed Irina-Camelia Begu. Joining her in action on Wednesday are the likes of Ana Bogdan and Maria Sakkari, all of whom are contenders for the title. However, with several seeds tumbling on Tuesday the draw is wide open. Anyone could be primed for a deep run here and we must do our best to pick out who might do exactly that. So, let’s get stuck into the four matches featured in this set of predictions. Be sure to check out our other WTA Parma day 3 predictions set for the rest of the day’s coverage.

WTA Parma Day 3 Predictions

Mayar Sherif vs Simona Waltert

Head-t0-head: First meeting

Mayar Sherif was impressive in dismissing Anna Bondar in the last round. She is also in the midst of a purple patch as far as her career is concerned and is clearly enjoying her tennis. Her opponent, Simona Waltert, will be unfamiliar to most who follow the WTA Tour. However, the Swiss looks to be a real talent and showed as much in dismiss Tamara Zidansek in her last match. Sherif played at a high level in round one and that level should be too much for Waltert here. The Swiss looks a promising player for the future, but she isn’t ready quite yet.

Prediction; Sherif in 2

Jasmine Paolini vs Elisabetta Cocciaretto

Head-t0-head: 1 – 1

This will undoubtedly be the match of the day for the home fans. An all-Italian affair between two young stars of the women’s game. Jasmine Paolini has had more success and experience on the WTA Tour. Nevertheless, Elisabetta Cocciarreto looks a serious talent with a lot of upside. This one is tough to call, and I suspect it will be going the distance. Paolini is well established on the WTA Tour and has a title to her name. That experience should give her an edge in big moments and see her over the line here.

Prediction: Paolini in 3

Ana Bogdan vs Anna Schmiedlova

Head-t0-head: 3 – o Schmiedlova

Ana Bogdan has turned herself into quite the player on the WTA Tour this year. However, the Romanian will have her hands full here against Anna Schmiedlova. Bogdan has lost all three of their previous meetings, including one on clay in March of this year. However, she is a much improved player now and full of confidence. I expect her to change the narrative of this matchup and get a win on the board come Wednesday.

Irina-Camelia Begu vs Matilde Paoletti

Head-t0-head: First meeting

Pretty easy call here. Matilde Paoletti is a promising young player who may well make it onto the WTA Tour more regularly in future. However, she faces an in-form Begu who is on a six match winning streak on clay. The Romanian is the clear favourite here and for good reason. This isn’t a match I can envisage an upset happening in, so I’m going with the straight and narrow call of an easy win for Begu.

Prediction: Begu in 2
