ATP Geneva Final Prediction

Casper Ruud vs Joao Sousa

Head t0 head – Ruud 2-0 Sousa

It’s becoming increasingly difficult to go against Casper Ruud in tournaments at this level. The Norwegian is yet to break through at the sport’s biggest stage, but is still a level above the mid-tier players. The clay courts are easily the best surface suited for the Norwegian’s game, and he looks in prime position to win this tournament as well.

Joao Sousa’s run is certainly unexpected, reaching the final without dropping a set. That being said, the final will be a level up from the opponents he’s faced so far, and it looks like it will be a task beyond the Portuguese. Sousa would be very happy with the week he’s had so far. It’s great to see a fierce competitor like himself playing the tennis we’re used to see him play.

The Norwegian has already beaten Sousa twice in two previous meetings, and matchup wise it’s tough to pick against Ruud here. Ruud should be a heavy favorite in the baseline rallies, and his consistent serving should put constant pressure on Sousa. Expect Ruud to win his second trophy of the year and enter the French Open as a player to watch out for.
Prediction: Ruud in 2
