Day 2 on the clay in Barcelona features Spain’s own Feliciano Lopez in action along with Lorenzo Musetti vs Dan Evans. We have predictions for every ATP Barcelona match on day 2 including Including Casper Ruud v Brandon Nakashima and Diego Schwartzman vs Mackenzie McDonald.
Marton Fucsovics vs Jordan Thompson
At 8-11 and 7-9 respectively on the season, it’s safe to say both Thompson and Fucsovics struggle to be consistent at ATP World Tour level. Fucsovics has been better on clay in his career though, reaching a few finals on the surface, especially at the Challenger Tour level, Thompson much prefers a faster surface and is the underdog. Feliciano Lopez vs Emil Ruusuvuori
A qualifier in Monte Carlo, Ruusuvuori has been solid this season, you can’t say the same for Lopez, one of the oldest players still active on the ATP Tour, he hasn’t won a match this season and I doubt that changes today, even while playing in Spain. His veteran compatriot Tommy Robredo was routed in his retirement match on Monday, and Lopez is next in line. Ruusuvuori should get past the aged serve and volleyer. Ruusuvuori in 2
Ilya Ivashka vs Pedro Martinez
The pair split meetings, Martinez is at home and should be much more comfortable on clay. On hard courts Ivashka would have the upper hand, Martinez should be able to dictate proceedings in this one, the match is on the Spaniard’s racquet. Martinez in 2
Lorenzo Musetti vs Dan Evans
Evans has never been comfortable on clay despite his higher ranking, Musetti got past Sebastian Baez on Monday, the Italian makes his living on clay currently and has been winning matches in recent weeks. This is a good matchup for Musetti to put in work and get the win. Musetti in 2
