ATP second round action from the Miami Open (ATP Miami) will begin on day 3 with the likes of Casper Ruud and Cameron Norrie in action. Norrie takes on Jack Draper in a Battle of the Brits matchup. We have all of your predictions for day 3 of the tournament.
Casper Ruud vs Henri Laaksonen
Ruud leads the h2h 2-1, The Norwegian player is 8-4 on the year with a title on clay, Laaksonen has struggled going 2-7, he did beat Benoit Paire in three sets to open this tournament, Ruud is simply the better more threatening player of the pair. Ruud in 2
Daniel Elahi Galan vs Alexander Bublik
Bublik is 10-7 on the season with a title, he’s a capable but inconsistent player who can perform well on hard courts. Galan qualified and upset John Millman in the first round, he’s playing well and will get a lot of “home” fans given this is Miami, a city with a large Colombian community. Galan’s odds of victory would still be better on clay though. Bublik in 2
John Isner vs Hugo Gaston
Isner won two matches in Indian Wells on North American hard courts (his best surface), and he towers over Gaston. Gaston is an improving player and Isner is beatable if you can break his serve, with that said, on this surface I doubt Gaston can achieve that. Isner in 2
Jack Draper vs Cameron Norrie
Norrie has been great form, he won Delray Beach, reached the final of Acapulco, and the quarterfinals of Indian Wells. Draper eased past Gilles Simon in round 1, and has been an incredible 17-2 on the Challenger Tour this year. Draper looks ready for primetime, but Norrie is still a tough opponent to beat right now and should win the battle of the Brits. Norrie in 2
