ATP Santiago Semifinal Predictions Including Sebastian Baez vs Albert Ramos

Pedro Martinez in action at the ATP Santiago Open.

Day six at the ATP Santiago Open will see both semifinals being played, with all four semifinalists having very realistic hopes of taking home the trophy, which would be the first career title for three of them. Two very tight affairs are expected this Saturday in Chile and, as always, we here at LWOT will be offering our predictions for every match. But who will come out on top?

ATP Santiago Semifinal Predictions

Sebastian Baez vs Albert Ramos Vinolas

Head-to-head: Baez 1-0 Ramos

Their one previous match happened just one month ago at the Australian Open. It was a long, three hour and a half battle, full of ups and downs, which Baez eventually won in five sets. That previous encounter is hardly a barometer here though, as both players feel far more comfortable on clay and will certainly play at a much higher level here. That said, the same kind of balance is expected, there’s no clear favorite here. Ramos has more experience and has momentum after winning recently in Cordoba, but Baez is certainly very hungry and looks close to a breakthrough, which might just happen here.

Prediction: Baez in 3

Alejandro Tabilo vs Pedro Martinez

Head-to-head: Martinez 1-0 Tabilo

Both players came close to a title recently, Pedro Martinez in Kitzbuhel last year and Alejandro Tabilo earlier this year in Cordoba. Both had chances to win the respective finals but couldn’t quite get past the finish line and remain without a title at this level. Their previous meeting happened a couple weeks ago in Buenos Aires: Martinez won pretty comfortably, but Tabilo was clearly hungover after a career best week in Cordoba. This time around, it will be a much tighter affair for sure and Tabilo might even be considered the slight favorite taking recent form into account. He has been on fire this week, not dropping a single set so far on his way to the semifinals.

Prediction: Tabilo in 2
