Felix Auger-Aliassime vs Andrey Rublev

Head-to-head: Rublev 2-1 Auger-Aliassime

These two renew their rivalry from just a week ago when they met in the semi-finals of the Rotterdam Open. The three matches they’ve played against each other have all been three setters including at least one tiebreaker. That suggests, not a lot separates the two when their games stack up against each other.

Felix Auger-Aliassime came into this tournament as the red hot player and the Canadian hasn’t disappointed. He is yet to drop a set this week and while he has started slow in his last couple of matches, Auger-Aliassime has recovered well both times to finish strong.

Andrey Rublev has struggled in all his matches to dominate like he does but has demonstrated tremendous fighting sprit throughout.  The Russian was stretched again in his semi-final match which means he doesn’t enter this final feeling completely assured about his game.

The final shouldn’t be short on drama as both players play their game with intense passion for tennis. Auger-Aliassime has been winning a healthy percentage of points on his second serve and that’ll be key for the Canadian. Rublev like in all his previous matches will blow hot and cold and that’ll yield him a set but nothing more. Expect Auger-Aliassime to play his best match yet and back the Rotterdam trophy with another one here.

Prediction: Auger-Aliassime in 3
