WTA Adelaide 2 Day 3 Predictions Including Madison Keys vs Tereza Martincova

Wednesday sees the sixteen women remaining in the draw take to the court in Adelaide. Each will be hoping to book their place in the quarterfinals when all is said and done. There’s no clear favourite with several top seeds tumbling out in the first round of action. The likes of Madison Keys and Coco Gauff will like their chances, but will need to be at their respective bests to navigate a tough field. We take a look at how everyone in action on Wednesday should do in our WTA Adelaide 2 day 3 predictions.

WTA Adelaide 2 Day 3 Predictions

Marketa Vondrousova vs Ana Konjuh

Marketa Vondrousova did will to navigate a tough first round test in Viktorija Golubic. The Czech looks in great touch here in Adelaide and could be a dark horse to lift the trophy if she finds her best tennis consistently. However, she must first get past a resurgent Ana Konjuh. The former world #20 stormed back onto the WTA Tour after an extending absence due to injury. She showed flashes of that top 20 ability last year and if she can do so more consistently in 2022 there is reason she can’t continue climbing the rankings. Konjuh is full of confidence and playing with power and aggression. I think she takes it to Vondrousova here and the Czech will struggle to keep up.

Ludmilla Samsonova vs Nuria Parrizas Diaz

Nuria Parrizas Diaz doesn’t have much chance here I’m afraid. The Spaniard is in the form of her life and continues to produce surprise results, but she is up against another in form player in Ludmilla Samsonova. The Russian had a career year in 2021 and will almost certainly build on that this year as she grows accustomed to life on the WTA tour. Samsonova has more power at her disposal and is far more comfortable on hard courts than the Spaniard is. This one should be over relatively quickly.

Tamara Zidansek vs Madison Inglis

Young Australian Madison Inglis took full advantage of the home support in her first round match. She edged past Danka Kovinic in three sets and will be looking to score another win here. However, I don’t think she can live with Tamara Zidansek in this match. The Slovenian’s forehand is a lethal weapon that should allow her to dictate the vast majority of the points in this match. If that proves to be the case then she should win relatively easily here.

Prediction: Zidansek in 2

Madison Keys vs Tereza Martincova

The only question that matters in this match is which Madison Keys turns up to the match. If it’s anything close to the version that rained down 12 aces in a demolition of Elina Svitolina in the last round then Keys will win this just as comfortably. The American is a winner-producing machine when she is at her best and there are very few in the world who can live with her effortless power. Martincova is a good player in her own right but this match is firmly on the racket of the American. For that reason, I have to back Keys to take the win here.

Prediction: Keys in 2
