ATP Winston-Salem Day 4 Predictions Including Daniel Evans vs Richard Gasquet

Richard Gasquet in action at the ATP European Open

The quarterfinals will be set on Wednesday at the ATP Winston-Salem Open and we have predictions for all of your round of 16 matches including matches featuring Marton Fucsovics and Frances Tiafoe. This set of matches features Dan Evans vs Richard Gasquet.

Pablo Carreno Busta vs Dominik Koepfer

PCB leads the h2h 3-0 including two wins in the last month on hard courts (Tokyo and Cincinnati), given the Spaniard dominates the h2h and has been in fantastic form lately (semis in Mallorca, a title in Hamburg, the bronze medal in Tokyo and quarterfinals in Cincy) this match is more than likely going to be straight forward. PCB is hunting a third ATP title this season and Koepfer, even during a career best year, has not advanced to a quarterfinal since Geneva in May and only has one other quarterfinal or better this season (semis in Acapulco). Jan-Lennard Struff vs Ilya Ivashka

Struff leads the h2h 2-0 and is trying to reach his first quarterfinal since Parma in May. It’s been another season of consistent results for the German even if he hasn’t played lights out tennis on the ATP Tour, Ivashka is having a career best year and has been on a nice run all summer on grass and hard courts. This match is set to be competitive and after Ivashka beat Andreas Seppi and Marin Cilic I actually back him to pull off a slight upset here and get this win. Struff has simply not been as impressive in recent weeks. Ivashka in 3

Daniel Evans vs Richard Gasquet

Gasquet won the only meeting and although it’s been a pedestrian year for the veteran Frenchman, he did reach the Umag final this summer and has shown signs he can still be a threat on tour. Evans has only played three matches since Wimbledon and his win against Lucas Pouille earlier this week was his first win since the grass court season. Neither player is playing lights out tennis, but Gasquet has shown more for the time being. Gasquet in 2

Benoit Paire vs Emil Ruusuvuori

Paire was defeated by Ruusuvuori in Atlanta earlier this Summer, though he did recently find form and reach the quarterfinals of Cincinnati in an impressive run, despite what has overall been his worst season on the ATP Tour in quite some time. Finland’s Ruusuvuori reached the semifinals in Atlanta and has strung together a few more wins on North American hard courts, including two this week. Ruusuvuori represents a challenge, but Paire’s form seems improved from their first meeting and he should be favored. Paire in 3
