Kevin Anderson Queen's

Day 6 of the ATP Halle of Fame Championships will feature both semifinal matchups, with Kevin Anderson taking on Alexander Bublik and Jenson Brooksby taking on Jordan Thompson. Aside from the giant South African, all other remaining players are looking to win their first career title this week so they will definitely be trying their absolute best to seize this great opportunity for such a momentous career achievement.

ATP Newport Day 6 Predictions

Kevin Anderson vs Alexander Bublik

Head-to-head: first meeting

In theory this is the much stronger semifinal, with Anderson having the best career and grass pedigree out of anyone left and Bublik being by far the highest ranked player. Both players will surely believe this is their biggest obstacle en route to the title. Oddsmakers see this as a very even match, with a slight edge to Bublik, but on this surface Anderson’s more steady, serve-reliant game might well give him an edge over his more mercurial but also inconsistent opponent. At least one tiebreak should definitely be expected in this one.

Prediction: Anderson in 3

Jenson Brooksby vs Jordan Thompson

Head-to-head: first meeting

This semifinal is also seen as extremely close by bookies, with a slight edge to Thompson. The two players are in opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to their career trajectories: Brooksby is up and coming and having a great run this week that shows he might have a promising future ahead; Thompson is a veteran of the ATP circuit desperately trying to win that title that would truly cement his career. Despite Brooksby impressive form and results so far this week, Thompson’s superior experience might make the difference in this one, as hard as it is to call it. On the other hand, the Aussie will also have more pressure on his shoulders as this might be his best ever chance at a title, while Brooksby will certain believe he will have far more bites at the apple.

Prediction: Thompson in 3
