ATP Newport Day 4 Predictions Including Jack Sock vs Kevin Anderson

Kevin Anderson Queen's

Day 4 of the ATP Hall of Fame Championships in Newport will feature two of the four quarterfinal matchups, with Kevin Anderson vs Jack Sock clearly the headliner. Who will advance to Saturday’s semifinal? Let’s take a look at the matchups. As always, feel free to share your own thoughts in the comments.

ATP Newport Day 4 Predictions

Alexander Bublik vs Jason Jung

Head-to-head: Jung 2-0 Bublik

Jung did get two wins over Bublik back in 2018, but their careers have taken different paths since. Bublik has established himself as a top 50 player in the world, while Jung has never really kicked on. As impressive as Jung was in his win over Sandgren, Bublik and his unorthodox game are an easy pick here. The Kazakh is constantly improving, and his game on grass has been impressive on its own this year.
Prediction: Bublik in 2

Kevin Anderson vs Jack Sock

Head-to-head: Anderson 3-2 Sock

Sock has surpassed all expectations this week by reaching this stage of the tournament, but this is almost surely the end of the line for him. The American won a Masters title in Paris-Bercy in 2017, but his career has fallen off a cliff since. Sock has impressed in his first action of 2021 this week, but winning another match will be way too much to ask. Anderson has been showing great from this week and his credentials on this surface are well known; he’s clearly the favorite to win this tournament right now. Even at his best, grass was never a kind surface for Sock, let alone now.
Prediction: Anderson in 2
