ATP Marseille Quarterfinal Predictions Including Daniil Medvedev vs Jannik Sinner

Daniil Medvedev ATP Cup

Only eight men remain in contention for the ATP Open 13 Provence trophy in Marseille. The four quarterfinal matches are going to be extremely exciting with a mix of top seeds and newcomers.

ATP Marseille Quarterfinal Predictions

Ugo Humbert vs Arthur Rinderknech

Head to head – First Meeting

An interesting clash first up. Arthur Rinderknech is one of two qualifiers to reach this stage and twice he’s now recovered from a set down to win in three sets. Rinderknech has been serving well this week and it’ll be the shot that he relies on once again.

Ugo Humbert made a solid start, beating Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and conceding zero break point chances. Humbert looked solid from the baseline and his forehand was on fire throughout the match. From the baseline Humbert should hit through Rinderknech whereas the opposite is less likely to happen here. Expect Humbert to be stretched as Rinderknech is playing well but the fourth seed to manage to win.
Prediction: Humbert in 3

Matthew Ebden vs Karen Khachanov

Head to head – Khachanov 1-0 Ebden

Matthew Ebden is the second qualifier in the last eight. The Aussie has impressed against tough opponents and should give tough competition to the third seed, Karen Khachanov.

The Russian played a decent enough first round dropping his serve twice before winning in straight sets. Khachanov still doesn’t seem to be at his best but as he keeps winning matches he should get there. Expect an entertaining clash with Khachanov dominating from the baseline and Ebden struggling to dictate points.
Prediction: Khachanov in 2

Pierre-Hugues Herbert vs Stefanos Tsitsipas

Head to head – Herbert 1-0 Tsitsipas

Pierre-Hugues Herbert does seem to play his best on the French indoor circuit. Two good wins for the Frenchman but he now faces an in form Stefanos Tsitsipas.

The Greek has impressed this year and his ground strokes have that extra zip you get when hit cleanly. Herbert will not be going away easily here but one feels Tsitsipas brings too solid a game to lose this one.
Prediction: Tsitsipas in 3

Daniil Medvedev vs Jannik Sinner

Head to head – Medvedev 1-0 Sinner

Easily the best quarterfinal match we have on our hands. Jannik Sinner will look to avenge his loss to Daniil Medvedev here last year. The Italian’s game has grown leaps and bounds since and it’ll be enthralling to see how he handles Medvedev’s game.

The Russian was at his mercurial best once again beating Egor Gerasimov with extreme ease. Sinner is likely to be the aggressor but that plays right into Medvedev’s game style. Expect a tight contest over three sets but Medvedev should be slightly more consistent and tougher mentally.
Prediction: Medvedev in 3
