ATP Paris Masters Day 2 Predictions

Round of 64

Dusan Lajovic vs Adrian Mannarino

Head to head – Lajovic 3-1 Mannarino
Adrian Mannarino heads into Paris with some form reaching the finals in the recently concluded Astana Open. The Frenchman faces Dusan Lajovic who is a tricky opponent on any surface. The Serb leads the head to head 3-1 but hasn’t won a match since his first round win in the French Open. Lajovic is extremely low on confidence and he wouldn’t relish the fact that he has to face a player who prefers the indoor conditions. If Mannarino can defend his serve well, the Frenchman’s groundstrokes are potent enough in the indoor conditions to get the win.
Prediction: Mannarino in 2

Miomir Kecmanovic vs John Millman

Head to head – Millman 1-0 Kecmanovic
On current form, John Millman enters this match as the favourite. The Australian is coming off a confidence infusing title run in Nur-Sultan and he’s already beaten Miomir Kecmanovic before. The Serb hasn’t looked in any form since winning the title in Kitzbuhel losing in the first round in Nur-Sultan. Expect Millman to be the one dictating the rallies and if he’s not too tired, the Australian should be the one winning this.
Prediction: Millman in 2

Gilles Simon vs Tommy Paul

Head to head – First Meeting
This one looks like a tight contest. Gilles Simon would’ve preferred for the French crowd to motivate him during the match but he’ll have to find it within him to power through. Both players reached the quarter-finals of the tournaments they played in before coming to Paris. This is also their first meeting which makes this match all the more difficult to call. Simon is not the kind of player who’ll go big on crucial points contrary to Tommy Paul. It is by that virtue and the fact that they’re playing behind closed doors, I’m picking Paul to just scrape through.
Prediction: Paul in 3

Round of 32

Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Ugo Humbert

Head to head – First Meeting

Tsitsipas hasn’t quite been at his best during the latter portion of the season, but he’s still one of the best players in the world right now. Humbert, on the other hand, is a rising youngster who is not yet a top player. The Frenchman will be inspired to do well in his home Masters, and he has the game to excel on this surface, but he’ll fall just short in the bid for a major upset here.
Prediction: Tsitsipas in 3
