Albert Ramos Vinolas in action ahead of the ATP Kitzbuhel Open

There should be plenty for tennis fans to look forward to on day two at the ATP Kitzbuhel Open, with a number of star names set to join the action in Austria. We here at LWOT will be offering our predictions for all eight matches on the day, including Feliciano Lopez vs Pierre-Hugues Herbert. But who will reach the second round?

ATP Kitzbuhel Open Day 2 Predictions

Marc-Andrea Huesler vs Emil Ruusuvuori

Head-to-head: first meeting

Marc-Andrea Huesler did look strong in qualifying for the main draw here in Kitzbuhel but will be the underdog entering this match. Emil Ruusuvuori has just cracked the top 100 for the first time and won his maiden grand slam main draw match as well. Expect Ruusuvuori to impress against Huesler who just doesn’t bring a lot of confidence entering this match.

Prediction: Ruusuvuori in 2

Federico Delbonis vs Juan Ignacio Londero

Head-to-head: Londero 1-0 Delbonis

An all Argentine battle and this could turn one-sided of their lone previous meeting is considered. Juan Ignacio Londero blasted Federico Delbonis away 6-1 6-0 when then met last year on the clay courts of Cordoba. Londero has improved a lot over the past year and he would no doubt be distraught after losing to Borna Coric at the US Open leading two sets to one. Nevertheless, Londero loves the clay and expect him to get the better of his countryman Delbonis who hasn’t won a match since the tour restarted.

Jordan Thompson vs John Millman

Head-to-head: first meeting

A bit surprising that these two have never played each other in a main draw match but better late than never. Both of them are very consistent from the baseline and expect long rallies between the two. Not a lot to separate the two but Jordan Thompson carries fine form into this match after reaching the fourth round at the ongoing US Open and that should translate into a win for the Aussie. Expect a gruelling three-setter as Millman is never easy to beat.

Prediction: Thompson in 3

Albert Ramos Vinolas vs Laslo Djere

Head-to-head: Ramos Vinolas 1-1 Djere

Albert Ramos Vinolas for one would be extremely happy the European clay-court swing is beginning for this is the phase on the tour he plays his best. The Spaniard is a handful for anyone on the clay due to his lefty topspin and consistency from the baseline. Laslo Djere did beat him last year at Roland Garros but expect the Spaniard to reverse that result on the back of his superior consistency. Djere would make it extremely tough for the Spaniard and should be an entertaining three-setter.

Prediction: Ramos Vinolas in 3
