ATP Delray Beach Open Day 3 Predictions Including Reilly Opelka vs Mackenzie McDonald

Ready for our preview for Day 3 at the ATP Delray Beach Open. Top Americans Reilly Opelka and Mackenize McDonald will be facing each other. On the other hand, teenage sensation Brandon Nakashima will face Cameron Norrie for a place in the quarterfinals.

ATP Delray Beach Open Day 3 Predictions

Soonwoo Kwon vs Ryan Harrison

Head-to-head: First meeting

On paper, Soonwoo Kwon, who is ranked 82nd in the world, should get through this match easily against Ryan Harrison, who is currently ranked 433rd in the world. However, Harrison, a former top 50 player, is coming back from injury so no one really knows what his true level is like right now. The American has competed in some Challenger recently but with some mixed results. However, the 27-year-old did beat Damir Dzumhur, ranked 108th in the world, in the first round a couple of days ago.

Expect this to be a three-set match. But with the South Korean having more of a higher-level match play this year compared to the American, it should go his way in Delray Beach Wednesday.
Prediction: Kwon in 3

Cameron Norrie vs Brandon Nakashima

Head-to-head: First meeting

Brandon Nakashima created his name in the tennis world by beating Pune champion Jiri Vesely in straight sets on Monday. The 18-year-old American reached the semifinals of the Junior US Open last year and nearly beat Frances Tiafoe last week the Dallas Challenger.

Expect the teenager to cause some serious trouble for Cameron Norrie. The Brit has not been in his form as of late, but was impressive by knocking out Taylor Fritz yesterday in the three close sets. It will be a close one. But with Nakashima being in-form at the moment, the teenager could make it to his quarterfinals at his maiden ATP event.

Noah Rubin vs Yoshihito Nishioka

Head-to-head: First meeting

Noah Rubin came through the qualifying tournament where he beat both Paolo Lorenzi and Denis Istomin to be here in the second round. It will be a very tough match for the American to play against Yoshihito Nishioka. Nishioka’s craftiness on-court has proven to trouble a lot of top players. It will likely also to be the deciding factor as well for this match. The 24-year-old Japanese player should advance to the quarterfinals without many problems unless Rubin gives one of the best performances of his career thus far.
Prediction: Nishioka in 2

Reilly Opelka vs Mackenzie McDonald

Head-to-head: First meeting

The pair are great friends off the court as they play doubles together regularly on tour. It should be a close one with at least one tiebreak to provide the crucial momentum shifter in the match. A few points here and there will decide the match. With Opelka serving so well yesterday, it is difficult to go against him now.
Prediction: Opelka in 3
