ATP Eastbourne Semifinal Predictions Including Kyle Edmund vs Taylor Fritz

Eastbourne Kyle Edmund Queen's

Semifinal day here at the ATP Eastbourne International features fan favourite Kyle Edmund, who will be taking on American Taylor Fritz. The young American who is yet to win an ATP title will be looking to break the hearts of the fans and reach the second ATP final of his career. And the other match will be former Wimbledon semifinalist Sam Querrey taking on qualifier Thomas Fabbiano, who beat Gilles Simon in the quarterfinals.

Sam Querrey vs Thomas Fabbiano

Head-to-head: Querrey leads 1-0

Querrey has not been troubled all week and has yet to drop a set in the tournament. Being a former Wimbledon semifinalist, he knows his way on the grass and will be the favourite for the match.

However, Fabbiano, coming as a qualifier will have played more matches at Eastbourne. This can prove beneficial to players as they are used to the different conditions Eastbourne can bring.

The American, Querrey, should get through this match and reach the final. He will be looking to use his big serve and forehand to dictate points from the start. Fabbiano will need to find a way to neutralise that and find a way to play his own game.
Prediction: Querrey in 2

Kyle Edmund vs Taylor Fritz

Head-to-head: First meeting

Both players have had an average 2019 season. Kyle Edmund, by beating Dan Evans, won back-to-back matches for the first time since Miami in March. On the other hand, Taylor Fritz, before Eastbourne, was on a 13-16 win-loss deficit this year.

For Fritz to beat Edmund, he will need to be highly aggressive with his groundstrokes and have a high first serve percentage. The trouble with Fritz is that sometimes his level can drop in the middle of the match and against Edmund, he cannot afford to do that.

The Brit will need to play like he played the last two sets against Evans- high intensity, aggressive, using his forehand on the run. If he can do this, he has a high chance of winning.

Edmund, who is very popular among the Eastbourne fans, has been playing consistent tennis all week. He should get through this match with not much difficulty.

Prediction: Edmund in 2
