Madden streaking into Volusia as WoO Late Models round out February
Going back to last season, it has been the Chris Madden show in the World of Outlaws Late Model Series lately.
After compiling two wins in the past three World of Outlaws (WoO) races, one being at the World Finals in Charlotte, Madden is streaking into Volusia after a strong weekend in Screven.
As the series heads to the DIRTcar Nationals in Volusia, FL, Madden and co. will get three more chances to win features by the end of the weekend.
The event will hold three A-Main point races for the drivers and teams to compete for through the weekend.
Madden enters the weekend with the points lead, but of course after just two events it’s anyone’s game.
Defending series champion Josh Richards won two of the three main events in Volusia last season, on his way to setting the wins record. After choosing to participate in the Lucas Oil Late Model Series last weekend, Richards is returning for his first WoO race of the season.
Another threat that will make his presence felt this weekend will be Shane Clanton. In 2016, he exited Screven with the series points lead. This year, he has yet to earn a top ten and sits 19th in points. It is easy to see him being hungry for a win.
Not to mention Rick Eckert, who won the first race of the season, sits 22 points back of the lead in a very tight top ten.
