Force India unveil their 2017 challenger, the VJM10

Force India unveil their 2017 challenger, the VJM10

The VJM10 will be driven by Sergio Perez and Esteban Ocon for the 2017 season. For 2017, Force India will be looking to progress from their 2016 results after securing a number of podiums throughout the season and finishing ahead of Williams for fourth in the Constructor’s Standings – the highest they have finished to date.

At the unveiling event for the VJM10 at Silverstone Circuit, Team Principal and owner, Vijay Mallya hinted that the team could finish in the top three this season following the new aerodynamic regulations.

Like the Sauber and the Renault, the Force India features similar elements including the ‘shark fin’ mounted on the engine cover. The car also features the ‘thumb’ styled nose that is to be used by Sauber and Renault in 2017, however, on the Force India it is longer, emulating the noses of the cars of the 2014 season. The car also features a stepped front wing, which also emulates the design of a umber of cars in 2012 and 2013.

Force India have also adopted a new livery for 2017 but have kept a similar colour scheme in silver, black, and orange. Orange is now less prominent than it has been in recent year’s on the car, with only a few orange stripes being used.
