Donny Schatz solidified his prowess and ability to master a track like Eldora Speedway on Wednesday night when he won the makeup date to #LetsRaceTwo.
He followed it up with a runner-up finish to Brad Sweet on Thursday.
On Friday, though, he drove the stake home. The Kings Royal will once again be his to lose.
Donny Schatz does it again, winning The Knight Before the Kings Royal
Schatz led all 30 laps of the main event of The Knight Before, holding off a charging No. 41 of David Gravel.
The win was his seventh race in the past 10 features at the famed Eldora Speedway, setting him up as the favorite to win on Saturday.
However, the group of immediate contenders is exclusive and prestigious at the same time.
The trio of Brad Sweet, Logan Schuchart, and Gravel have been fast all week at Eldora, racking up the finishes near the top of the grid.

That’s why Schatz wasn’t celebrating on this Friday night in Ohio.
“Everything is about tomorrow night,” Schatz told Worldofoutlaws.com. “The night is over. We’ll forget about it. It’s all about the Kings Royal now.”
The Kings Royal will be run on Saturday night at Eldora paying a lobsided $175,000 to the winner. The format for the event can be found here.
