The theme this season in the Nos Energy Drink World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series is that any driver can win on any given night.
While that’s been true in the past, the results have shown this season just how unpredictable this series can be.
Going into Tuesday’s second annual FVP Platinum Battery Showdown, three drivers are tied for the most wins this season with three victories a piece, and the WoO has seen 14 different drivers win through 23 races.
Who better to make it 14 than Stenhouse Jr.-Marshall Racing’s Sheldon Haudenschild?
Sheldon Haudenschild looks for first win of 2019 at Fairbury
The No. 17 car that carries the title sponsor of the series has yet to reach victory lane this season – something Haudenschild had done three times heading into this event last season in what was the outlaws first trip to Fairbury.
After that night, he made it four.
Haudenschild became the first and only winner at Fairbury year ago, almost to the day, when he fought from seventh in his heat race to second and started on the pole after winning the Dash.
He hasn’t been quite as lucky this season, though, seeing only four top-five finishes through the first part of the season.
One thing is for sure, Haudenschild is too talented for this first win to not be right around the corner, and once it does we could see a real hot streak from the young gun.
He’ll be battling Donny Schatz and Shane Stewart, whom both came off of victories in the series’ first trip to Nashville over the weekend.
Hot laps are scheduled to start at Fairbury at 6:30 p.m. CT with qualifying to follow 15 minutes after. As always the race can be seen live on Dirt Vision, but for those that can’t watch, we will have live updates all Tuesday evening on Twitter.
