In Austria, DAMS Lucas Oil aims to maintain the positive momentum built this year. Both drivers will play an important role in continuing that progress.
Dams Lucas Oil Arrives in Austria with High Hopes
DAMS Lucas Oil currently holds fourth place in the Teams Championship, sitting just two points behind MP Motorsport in third. The 2025 season has so far proved promising for the French team, with the feature race in Jeddah marking the first event where they consistently scored points with at least one of their two drivers.
Jak Crawford to Continue the Positive Trend
Now in his third year in Formula 2, and his second with DAMS Lucas Oil, Jak Crawford continues to show that experience and hard work deliver results. The American has already secured two wins this season, including a podium finish in the Jeddah Feature Race.

Since the Saudi round, Crawford has consistently finished within the points and remained a regular contender in the leading group. He currently sits fourth in the Drivers’ Championship, demonstrating a clear step forward compared to last year, a season in which he occasionally displayed impressive speed.
Reflecting on last year’s performance at the Red Bull Ring, Crawford collected points in both races of the weekend. Ahead of this year’s event in Spielberg, he shared his thoughts with LWOS:
“It’s one of my favorite tracks, I love the Red Bull Ring. I love coming here. Great fans, great atmosphere, a great place to be. Also a great track for racing and I really enjoy personally. I think it suits the car we have as well so I’m looking forward to this weekend. I think we’ll have another great round with good points. We’re looking forward to getting on track and carrying on the momentum from the last couple of rounds.” – Jak Crawford to LWOS

Kush Maini in Search of Greater Consistency
Kush Maini’s season has been more erratic compared to his teammate. The Indian driver has struggled to consistently reach the points, as reflected in his recent results. However, Maini does have a victory to his name, earned during the sprint race in Monte Carlo. On that occasion, DAMS Lucas Oil won both races of the weekend, significantly lifting the team’s morale.
Last year, Maini raced with Invicta Racing and managed to score points during the sprint race at the Red Bull Ring, despite struggling in the final laps. However, on Sunday, he faced a problem with the car that caused it to stall, forcing him to start from the pit lane.

DAMS Lucas Oil Eyes Climb in the Teams’ Standings
Both drivers are determined to continue scoring points and help DAMS Lucas Oil climb as high as possible in the standings. This part of the season, starting from Austria, is crucial, with the upcoming rounds taking place at familiar circuits that drivers have known since their F3 and F4 days.
While Kush Maini focuses on finding consistency, Jak Crawford aims to confirm the speed and competitiveness he has demonstrated in recent rounds ahead of the summer break.
