NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series at Nashville Superspeedway Preview

Back in 2024, it was Christian Eckes and the MHR #19 Silverado taking home the guitar from Nashville Superspeedway. Eckes is running in the Xfinity Series this year, so he cannot defend his win. Can Corey Heim make it two in a row for the first time in 2025? Or will the field get the best of him again?

Race Preview:

The Rackley Roofing 200 at Nashville Superspeedway is a 200-mile, 150-lap race around the 1.333-mile track. Stage cautions will be on laps 45 and 95, and the checkered flag on lap 150. The prize purse for the race is 782,900 dollars. There are 32 drivers for 36 open spots in Friday’s race. The teams will have 5 sets of tires for this race and qualifying. The Goodyear Tires are the same as what were used at Charlotte last Friday.

The Track: Nashville Superspeedway

Nashville Superspeedway, located in Lebanon, Tennessee, opened in 2001 as a 1.33-mile concrete oval track. Initially hosting races for the  NASCAR Xfinity and Truck Series, it became notable for its concrete surface. After closing in 2011 due to declining attendance, the track reopened in 2021 under Speedway Motorsports ownership, hosting its first NASCAR Cup Series race. Since 2021, it has hosted all three major NASCAR Series.

Scott Riggs, father to Layne Riggs, won the first Truck Series race at Nashville. There is a three-way tie for the most wins at Nashville between Kyle Busch, Johnny Benson, and Ryan Preece. Nick Sanchez holds the track record for the Truck Series, with a 30.351-second lap set in 2023.

Craftsman Truck Series Point Standings:

These are the current point standings following Charlotte:

1. Corey Heim: 511
2. Chandler Smith: 411
3. Daniel Hemric: 401
4. Tyler Ankrum: 382
5. Grant Enfinger: 371
6. Layne Riggs: 342
7. Kaden Honeycutt: 335
8. Jake Garcia: 332

Drivers To Watch:

Here are the additions to the field for Friday’s Truck Series race. William Sawalich will drive the #1 for TRICON Garage. Kyle Busch will pilot the #07 and Corey Day the #7 for Spire Motorsports. Lastly, Akinori Ogata will make his second start of the season, driving the #63 Tundra.

Another week, another Corey Heim prediction, and it is with good faith. Heim leads the series points by 100 points over Chandler Smith. But if you believe in statistics, he will not win this week. Heim has not won two races in a row this year. Can he break that stat this week in Nashville?

Kyle Busch is part of that three-way tie for wins at Nashville with two wins. Busch has almost every record in the Truck Series, and this tie can be broken this weekend. Look out for the Truck Series All-Time Wins Holder in Nashville.

Layne Riggs has some momentum. A fourth place at Charlotte, a second at North Wilkesboro, and a second at Kansas. Riggs has the speed to join his father this weekend, both victorious at Nashville Superspeedway in a NASCAR Truck.
