The Danish teenager, who claimed victory in the 2023 FIA Girls on Track Rising Stars programme, has already impressed in her single-seater debut, earning points in this year’s Indian F4 Championship in August. She finished P6 in Chennai and won Rookie of the Race.
She also has been mentored by departing Haas Formula 1 driver Kevin Magnussen for the past two years.
Hurup Larsen, who turns 16 ahead of next year’s campaign, will replace Nerea Martí where she will hit the track in a suit and car livery showcasing Tommy Hilfiger’s red, white, and blue design.
Age as a factor
The teenager is the direct age F1 Academy should be aimed at, where girls are discovering their potential. She embodies the initiative’s purpose: nurturing young talent, providing growth opportunities, and inspiring the next generation on the grid.
By focusing on drivers at this stage, F1 Academy not only highlights the possibilities within motorsport but also will begin to address the gap in representation by empowering girls before they transition into higher tiers of racing. This includes other F4 series’.
