The 2024 F1 Academy Champion will receive a fully funded seat in GB3 for the 2025 season.
The 2024 F1 Academy Champion will receive a fully funded GB3 seat with Rodin Motorsport for the 2025 season. She will also experience 20 days of testing in the GB3 car to support her campaign. This opportunity forms part of the newly created Pirelli Prize, with Pirelli providing a financial contribution toward the seat alongside F1 Academy.
As the season approaches its conclusion, only two race weekends remain. The F1 Academy grid will join Formula 1 in Qatar from November 29 to December 1, followed by Abu Dhabi from December 6 to 8. With the championship battle intensifying, this prize adds even more incentive for the top contenders vying for the title.
Last year, Champion Marta García earned a similar prize, a seat in the Formula Regional European Championship with Prema. However, she later joined Iron Dames, racing alongside 2024 F1 Academy rookie Doriane Pin.
What is GB3?
Founded in 2013, the GB3 Championship serves as a stepping stone for drivers transitioning from Formula 4 series, including F1 Academy. This single-seater category has established itself as a key stage in the development of young racing talent.
For the 2025 season, GB3 will unveil the new Tatuus MSU GB3-025, equipped with a revised chassis, a 280bhp engine, and DRS. The updated calendar also brings six of the eight rounds scheduled at Grade One circuits from the F1 calendar.

With Abbi Pulling leading the Championship with a 95-point lead, the Briton will likely receive the seat. Already supported by Rodin Motorsport, Pulling could clinch the title as early as the Qatar round. This positions her for a strong transition into the next stage of her racing career. She has previously discussed how keen she is for her future.
Rodin Motorsport has proven to be a worthy developer, with Callum Voisin and Louis Sharp each claiming the GB3 title in the past two seasons. Voisin will make his debut in Formula 3 with Rodin in 2025, while Sharp, now in his second year in F3, will continue with the team.
The GB3 Championship has also served as a training ground for other emerging drivers, including Mercedes driver George Russell, who claimed the title in 2014 and remains the only GB3 Champion to reach the Formula 1 grid.
Is this progressive?
Susie Wolff, Managing Director of F1 Academy, shared her enthusiasm for this initiative:
“At F1 Academy, we are striving to create opportunities for women to succeed at all levels of our sport, and a testament to that mission is our commitment to putting together the best possible package for our Champions to move onwards and upwards. Together with our driver development team, we’re proud to support our 2024 Champion with a fully funded seat in GB3 with Rodin Motorsport in 2025. This will provide her with a fantastic opportunity to continue her development and aid her future progression.”
This partnership aligns with a broader industry trend of enhancing support for female drivers.
Jonathan Palmer, Chief Executive of MotorSport Vision (MSV), which operates the GB3 Championship, expressed his support for the collaboration:
“We are delighted that GB3 has been chosen as the next step for the 2024 F1 Academy champion. Over the past decade there has quite rightly been a big shift in motorsport to recognise and encourage the participation of women. F1 Academy has been instrumental in that process and Susie’s determination to provide women with unprecedented opportunities to develop and shine is tremendously exciting. As part of our own commitment to increasing these opportunities, MSV has increased its prize package for the most successful female racer in the 2025 GB4 Championship to €50,000, which she can put towards a 2026 season in F1 Academy.”
