Robert Kubica is set to drive at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed for Renault which will be held from June 29th – July 2nd. Kubica will once again be driving the Lotus E20 of the 2012 Formula 1 Season.
This appearance follows Kubica’s first outing in a F1 car since 2011 after testing the E20 in a private test that was organised by Renault in Valencia earlier in June.
At Goodwood, Kubica will take on the iconic 1.6 mile hill-climb while he gets reacquainted with driving a Formula 1 car after a major rally accident in 2011 ended his career in the sport.
After impressing in his test for Renault which saw him complete 115 laps around the highly demanding Circuit Ricardo Tormo, Kubica has been linked to a place at the team for 2018 to replace Jolyon Palmer after the Briton has had a poor showing in performance so far in 2017. This however has been denied by Renault, with team boss Cyril Abiteboul revealing that Kubica is not “currently on the list” for a possible seat. Kubica has disagreed with this statement however, with the driver believing that he still has the pace to compete at the top tier of motorsport.
