2023 Formula 3 Driver Lineup: PREMA confirms Dino Beganovic

Dino Beganovic set to join PREMA for the 2023 Formula 3 (F3) season

PREMA have announced the signing of eighteen-year-old Dino Beganovic for their 2023 Formula 3 campaign. He’ll join fellow teammate Paul Aron.

Having won the 2022 Formula Regional Championship (FREC) only four days ago, PREMA quickly announced that eighteen-year-old Swedish driver Dino Beganovic will be racing for them for the 2023 season. He’ll be joined by his fellow FREC PREMA teammate Paul Aron.

Alongside Aron and Zak O’Sullivan, Beganovic took part in the Formula 3 post-season testing in Jerez, Spain. Beganovic’s FREC campaign was a dominant one. He had four victories and twelve podiums to finish forty points ahead of rival Gabriele Mini.

Ferrari – PREMA connection

Back in 2020, Beganovic was announced as a member of the Ferrari Drivers Academy. His move up to Formula 3 comes as a fellow Ferrari family member takes the step up to Formula 2 – Arthur Leclerc. PREMA has a long history of success in the formula feeder series and appears to be building another strong lineup for the 2023 season.

Following the announcement, Beganovic stated:

“I am extremely happy to be racing with PREMA, my team, in the 2023 FIA Formula 3 Championship. It will be our fourth year together, and I’m very proud to continue working together,” said Beganovic.

“PREMA has an amazing history in Formula 3 and won at least one championship per year there. I think it is definitely a step in the right direction for my future and for the team, as we have been working for a long time together. Testing in Jerez put us in a good position with the preparations for next year, and we want to continue from that.”

Rene Rosin (PREMA Team Principal) also wrote:

“We have been working with Dino since the very beginning of his single seater career, and we are elated to continue for 2023. We went through Formula 4 and Formula Regional with increasingly impressive results together, and his run in FRECA shows how competent and outstanding he has become as a driver.”

2023 Driver Lineup

Despite now being several weeks removed from the end of the 2022 season, very little has been confirmed for next year. Part of this is down to the very nature of the Formula 3 series. Evaluating and deciding on which young drivers to move up into the series is not as straightforward as the steps above. Additionally, some of the junior F4 categories are only now completing their seasons.

  • Trident Racing: Gabriel Bortoleto, TBD TBD
  • PREMA Powertrain: Paul Aron, Dino Beganovic & TBD

As we move closer to winter expect more announcements. Especially as potential F2 drivers miss out on seats and/or teams decide they need another year in F3. As drivers (and teams) are announced, we will expand the table above.
