Haas F1 release the VF17

After images were leaked online yesterday of their 2017 car, the Haas F1 Team have officially launched their 2017 challenger, the VF17 in Barcelona, Spain.

Haas F1 are the second last team to release their 2017 car after a week packed full of car releases up and down the gird, releasing the VF17 just one day before the first day of pre-season testing.

The VF17 will be driven by Romain Grsojean and Kevin Magnussen in 2017, with Esteban Gutierrez being replaced by Magnussen towards the end of 2016 after the Danish driver left the Renault F1 Team, thus forcing the Gutierrez driver out of Formula 1. Romain Grosjean remains with the team for a second season after the American outfit made their debut last year.

The VF17 features a number of similar elements to cars that have been released over the course of the past week, featuring a more angular front wing, larger barge boards, the addition of a ‘thumb’ style nose cone, and the addition of a ‘shark fin’ on top of the engine cover, channeling airflow further.

You can see the Haas VF17 up close and personal following the release of the team’s promotional video:

Haas F1’s 2017 machine also features a new livery, with the car now sporting a dark grey and red livery instead of the team’s white, red, an grey scheme of 2016.

The Haas VF17 will make its debut on track with Kevin Magnussen in the car tomorrow, for the first day of pre-season testing at the Circuit de Catalunya in Spain.
