Team AmeriVet Tabs Burt Myers For Clash at Bowman Gray

Despite remaining unknown for the 2025 Daytona 500, Team AmeriVet shared some news today. The team will officially be taking part in the historic Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium. And like Rick Ware Racing, with its No. 15 car, AmeriVet will be fielding its car for a legend at the historic venue. Short track ace and Bowman Gray legend Burt Myers will make his NASCAR Cup Series debut.

Myers will jump aboard the No. 50 Citrusafe Chevrolet for Team AmeriVet. It shouldn’t come as a surprise for some of these smaller teams to be fielding cars for the exhibition event, for some of the better drivers the facility has seen in the last two decades. Myers fits the bill, given his history at Bowman Gray.

Team AmeriVet Tabs Burt Myers For Clash at Bowman Gray

Myers is no stranger to the track itself, as he’s a 12-track championship. He’s been a stalwart in the Modified racing series at Bowman Gray. His Track Championships have come across three decades. Those championships have come in 1999, 2001, 2007, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2023 and most recently just last season.

Not only that he has also shown his skill around the country in a Modified, as he won the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour Championship, three times in his career. Myers spoke about this awesome opportunity via a team release with NASCAR.com.

” I’m very excited to be a part of such a monumental event,” Myers said. “Everty short-track driver dreams of an opportunity like this. For mine to happen at my home track and to be able to continue my NASCAR family legacy means the world to me.”

TeamAmeriVet has really showcased it’s self in some of NASCAR’s bigger events, and to have such a good crew chief in Tony Eury Jr on the pitbox only helps this team.

” I’m looking forward to going to the stadium with Burt,” Eury said. “We have a lot of races together in our FURY modified over the years, and to be a part of this historic event with a driver like Burt, it’s hard not to be excited.”

Team AmeriVet Helping Veterans Remains Important

This team is special, in it’s own way. The message they send everytime they take partake in a NASCAR Cup Series event means alot. Team owner Rebecca Auchmoody, spoke about the importance of growing the team, and how much this team does for Military Veterans and their families.

” I couldn’t be more excited to kick off the racing season as The Clash with Burt Myers,” Auchmoody said. ” This event will help us grow as a team with Burt’s experience and Tony Jr. as crew chief; it will contribute towards improving team performance. It’s also an incredible opportunity for us to continue our mission of supporting veterans through our 50 Vets a Week program. Last season, we were proud to relieve $125,000 in veteran debt after the race in Phoenix, and our goal this time to exceed that amount. Each race gives us a platform to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those who have served, and we can’t wait to see what we can achieve together at The Clash.”

As the son of a veteran, this warms my heart. It’s great to see such a great message being sent by Team AmeriVet. It’s also going to see Burt Myers wheeling a cup car.
