Who Are the 2025 F2 Drivers Announced So Far

The 2025 F2 grid is already taking shape. Between new and past drivers, next season is expected to be full of exciting rounds.

All the Confirmed 2025 F2 Drivers So Far

In Abu Dhabi, Gabriel Bortoleto was crowned the F2 champion on Sunday. By Monday, the drivers were already testing for the upcoming year.

This demonstrates that motorsport doesn’t stop with the last race of the season. Driver and team preparation begins in December with post-season tests and continues until the first race of the 2025 F2 season.

Among the names on the 2025 F2 grid, there are some familiar faces for fans of the series, alongside newcomers from Formula 3. Both the rookies and the more experienced drivers will compete against each other on track to win the championship at any cost.

Invicta Racing

The 2024 Teams’ champions have assembled a balanced lineup consisting of a rookie and a driver in his third season. The rookie is Leonardo Fornaroli, the 2024 Formula 3 champion.

The Italian had an impressive season, winning the title thanks to his consistency on the track. Having not secured a win since Italian Formula 4 in 2021, he is eager to change that trend and compete for this title as well.

Roman Stanek made his Formula 2 debut last year with the Trident team, finishing the season in 18th position. In 2024 he remained with Trident, but only until the Monza round. The Czech driver left the team due to unsatisfactory equipment and lack of budget.

Despite this setback, he managed to secure a new agreement with Invicta for the 2025 season allowing him to remain on the F2 grid for another year in 2025.

Campos Racing

The Spanish team has once again decided to field an entire Red Bull junior lineup.

Arvid Lindblad will debut in the series at just 17 years old. He is eager to prove his worth after a disappointing end to the 2024 season, where he fell short of competing for the championship in the final rounds.

Alongside him, Pepe Martì aims to reinvent himself after a difficult first season in Formula 2, where he finished in 14th place. The Spaniard is also under the scrutinizing eye of Helmut Marko, who is pushing him to achieve better results.

Hitech Pulse-Eight

Paul Aron and Amaury Cordeel will both be leaving the English team, as Aron focuses on his role as reserve driver for Alpine. For this reason, Hitech has chosen two drivers with some experience in Formula 2 cars this year: Dino Beganovic and Luke Browning.

Beganovic has competed in the last two rounds, delivering a solid performance, including a podium finish in the final Sprint Race of the season.

Meanwhile, Luke Browning replaced Zak O’Sullivan at the ART Grand Prix starting from Baku. Although he seems to need more time to adapt, his results indicate that he is gradually becoming more comfortable with the car.

Prema Racing

The Italian team announced an entirely new lineup for next year. With Bearman and Antonelli graduating to Formula 1, two new drivers are ready to take their places.

Gabriele Mini, the runner-up in F3 for 2024, was the first to be confirmed. The Italian driver, who has alternated between Prema, ART Grand Prix, and Hitech during his single-seater career, has chosen to return to the team where he made his debut in 2020.

The F2 car is not entirely unfamiliar to him, as he replaced Oliver Bearman in Baku and delivered a remarkable performance, securing a podium in his first weekend.

His future teammate, Sebastian Montoya, completed his second season in Formula 3 this year. Unfortunately, his campaign included too many finishes outside the points and four DNFs, which placed him in 14th overall in the standings.

He will look to leverage this new environment and the new car to prove himself once again.

DAMS Lucas Oil

For the 2025 F2 season as well, the franchise team has decided to invest in more experienced drivers.

The first name on the list is Jake Crawford, who was already a member of DAMS last year. The American driver appeared comfortable with the team, achieving five podiums and one win in 2024. Together, they decided to renew their partnership.

Kush Maini will occupy the other side of the box. The Indian driver, who won his first F2 race this year, will enter his third season in the series. He hopes to bring the experience needed to perform optimally during race weekends.

Trident

The other Italian team on the grid is the last to announce its full lineup for now. The drivers are Max Esterson and Sami Meguetounif.

The American, Esterson, made his debut in the series in Qatar but did not score any points. However, he gained valuable experience understanding how the car performs on different circuits.

Sami Meguetounif joined the Trident team this year as their Formula 3 driver. During his first season in Formula 3, he achieved two victories, winning races in Imola and Monza.

As a result of these successes, along with a strong final position in eighth place, he has been promoted to Formula 2.

ART Grand Prix

For the 2025 season, Ritomo Miyata has decided to switch colours and join the French team. In his first season in Formula 2 this year, he collected 31 points and finished 19th in the championship.

Thanks to the support of Toyota and ART Grand Prix, he will have another opportunity to showcase his skills on the track.

The other name for the 2025 F2 lineup has not been announced yet; however, the most plausible candidate seems to be Victor Martins, who tested with the team during the post-season tests in Abu Dhabi.

The French driver could remain with the team to finally have a chance at the title he has been pursuing since his debut last year.

Rodin Motorsport

The Australian team has decided to trust Christian Mansell for the 2025 season, hoping he will help the team climb the standings. After an impressive second season in Formula 3, Mansell concluded the year in fifth position. He achieved no victories but secured five podiums.

Recognizing his growth from the previous year, he was given the opportunity to race in Formula 2 starting in Baku, replacing Roman Stanek at Trident. With three-point finishes in the series, Rodin sees promising potential in him.

The identity of the other driver in the lineup is still unknown. Nevertheless, many clues seem to point towards Alexander Dunne.

The Irish driver competed in Formula 3 this year and gained experience in the Macau Grand Prix with Prema, where he finished sixth.

Additionally, he tested with Rodin in Abu Dhabi. Given the speed he demonstrated in the previous feeder series, it wouldn’t be surprising if he were awarded that second seat.

AIX Racing

Joshua Durksen, after a successful first campaign in Formula 2, has announced that he will continue to race with the German team for the 2025 F2 season.

The Paraguayan driver had a challenging start to the season. However, thanks to two victories, two podiums, and six additional point finishes, he concluded the season in tenth place.

Durksen felt more comfortable with the car in the final rounds, which allowed him to compete for top positions.

During the tests in Abu Dhabi, Durksen was joined by Cian Shields and Nicolás Varrone.

Shields, the runner-up in the 2023 Euroformula Open Championship, competed in Formula 3 this season but did not score any points. He also raced in the final two rounds of Formula 2, coming close to scoring points in the Feature race in Qatar.

Varrone, who appears to be shifting his focus towards endurance racing, finished the post-season testing session in second place, only 0.72 thousandths behind the leader.

Van Amersfoort Racing

Since their debut in Formula 2 in 2022, Van Amersfoort Racing (VAR) has experienced a challenging season. This year they finished last in the overall standings.

The team’s only victory came in Jeddah, thanks to an impressive performance by Enzo Fittipaldi. However, the Brazilian left the team before the last two rounds to focus on testing for IndyCar.

He was replaced by John Bennett, the 2024 GB3 runner-up. The British scored his first points in the Feature Race in Qatar, after making a strong recovery from the back of the grid.

Rafel Villagomez competed for the entire season, earning points on four occasions.

As for the 2025 F2 lineup, VAR has not yet revealed the names of their drivers. However, during the tests in Abu Dhabi, Bennett and Villagomez took to the track with the team. This may leave the door open for a potential continuation of their partnership.
