Formula E: Jaguar Seek Revenge in São Paulo

As the 2025 Formula E season begins, Jaguar TCS Racing are setting their sights on defending their championship title.

After a productive pre-season testing at Madrid’s Jarama Circuit, the team enters the São Paulo E-Prix with renewed confidence.

The intense testing phase has prepared both Mitch Evans and Nick Cassidy for the season opener in Brazil.

While testing times are important, Jaguar know consistency and reliability will be key to success in São Paulo.

Jaguar Moving On From Frustrations of the Season 10 Finale

Last season, Jaguar’s title aspirations were marred by controversy, especially in the season finale in London. Evans, who fought for the Drivers’ Championship, grew frustrated with the team’s strategy calls.

“I feel like my own team were working against me,” Evans said after losing the title to Pascal Wehrlein by just seven points. His disappointment stemmed from being asked to prioritize teammate Nick Cassidy during the race, a decision that ultimately cost him the title.

But as the new season begins, Evans has put last year’s frustrations behind him. Focused on the 2025 championship, he is determined to leave the past behind and aim for victory in São Paulo.

A Bold New Look for the 2025 Season

Jaguar TCS Racing are ready to turn the page and go for the title after a dramatic 2024 finale.

Both Mitch Evans and Nick Cassidy will experience new challenges, including the powerful 350kW all-wheel-drive traction and 600kW regenerative braking.

The new bodywork and Hankook iON tyres are expected to give the team a competitive edge as they look to make their mark in the GEN3 Evo era of Formula E.

James Barclay, Jaguar TCS Racing Team Principal, said, “This has been an exciting week as we start our 2024/25 title campaign. The debut of the Jaguar I-TYPE 7 in its official livery is a big step forward for us. We expect a competitive season, with everyone fighting for podiums and wins.”

After testing in Madrid, the team have high expectations. Both Evans and Cassidy are ready to challenge for victory. The launch of the Type 00 and I-TYPE 7 marks Jaguar’s commitment to advancing electric vehicle technology.

The first goal is clear: Jaguar must reclaim dominance at the São Paulo E-Prix.

For the 2025 season, Jaguar will showcase a new, striking livery that blends sleek black and white tones with electric blue accents. This eye-catching livery marks a departure from previous designs, representing Jaguar’s drive to stand out both on and off the track.

The São Paulo E-Prix Last Year: Near Misses and Unexpected Retirements

In last year’s São Paulo E-Prix, Jaguar’s hopes for victory faded dramatically. Evans led the race into the final lap but Sam Bird overtook him in the closing moments. Despite his best efforts, Evans couldn’t defend against Bird’s challenge and finished second.

Meanwhile, Cassidy’s race ended prematurely when his front wing lodged under the wheels of his car in Turn 9. The impact threw Cassidy into the barriers at high speed, forcing him to retire immediately.

This time around, the atmosphere at Jaguar is high. Both drivers feel the increased competitiveness across the grid. The positive results from pre-season testing in Madrid have boosted their confidence.

With both drivers refining their setups, they have high expectations for the São Paulo E-Prix. Jaguar are eager to turn their hard work into strong results on the track.
