Shane Stewart started on the outside of the front row in the A-Main Saturday night as part of the second part of the first-ever Music City Nationals at Fairgrounds Speedway in Nashville.
By the time the field reached the middle of the back stretch, Stewart had gotten around Jeff Swindell to take the lead.
He wouldn’t go on to lead all of the final 29 and a half laps, but the CJB Racing driver would take the No. 5 car to victory lane for the first time this season.

Stewart did however hold the lead until lap 7, when Brent Marks got around him for the first spot still looking for his own first victory of the year.
The caution flew however after four cars spun in turns three and four, meaning Stewart would retain the lead on the single-file restart.
Marks would continue to work Stewart for the lead, and the two eventually battled wheel-to-wheel for the top spot for a few consecutive laps before the No. 19 took the lead on lap 12.
Fast forward 10 laps and Marks was staring lapped traffic in the face going into turns one and two trying to finish off his night in Nashville.
Marks ran the car too high and ended up catching some of the cushion to allow Stewart to pass him for the lead on the inside with nine to go.
Stewart would lead for the remainder of the night and hold off Marks to earn a $25,000 check and a trip to victory lane.
Stewart remains in sixth in the World of Outlaws standings, but gains 10 points on leader Donny Schatz and another 20 points on fifth-place Logan Schuchart.
The World of Outlaws Sprint Cars return to the track on Tuesday for the FVP Platinum Battery Showdown at Fairbury Speedway in Illinois.
