Ricciardo was at the wheel of the RB14 the whole day and racked up 165 laps. The Mercedes and Ferrari drivers shared the driving duties and clocked 175 laps and 115 laps overall. Reigning world champion Lewis Hamilton was second on the time sheets with the lap time set on the ultrasoft compound tyres.
The new Toro Rosso and Honda partnership continued their consistent run with Brendon Hartley completing 119 laps and fifth on the time sheet. All the other teams, except McLaren continued to rack up the mileage with 100+ laps. McLaren, with Fernando Alonso at the wheel, managed only 57 laps. An oil leak forced an engine change and restricted McLaren to the lowest laps of the day.
Two more days of testing remains before the first race in Melbourne, Australia on March 23-25 2018.
