Early on in the race, there was many race leaders. Kyle Larson had an amazing save after being run off the track slightly. Around Lap 13-14, Austin Dillon got to the front. At Lap 22, Logano gained the lead while battling Dillon and Chase Elliott. On Lap 25, everyone pitted under a yellow. After the caution was over, Keselowski had gained the lead. Keselowski was able to keep the lead until the checkered flag.

Jamie McMurray had issues during Lap 34, hitting a wall after his left rear being tapped by Kurt Busch. McMurray did not finish the race. With 7 laps to go, Keselowski had a big piece of debris on the nose of his car. But his team assured him that it won’t slow him down significantly.

On the final lap, Kyle Larson turned Jimmie Johnson, causing a 6 car wreck including Kyle Busch, Kyle Chase Elliott, Martin Truex Jr. and Kasey Kahne.

In victory lane, Keselowski reflected on his Clash race compared to the previous one. “Last year we started first and it didn’t go our way. We said this year will be the year we will win and sure enough”. The first race is in the books, giving insight into what we might see at the Superspeedway next week.
