Craft-Bamboo Racing is set to run the liveries of characters from Cars 3 ahead of the movie’s launch next month.
Cars meet Cars in LMP3 Disney-Pixar movie promotion
The LMP3 team that compete in the new FRD LMP3 Series will bear the famous bright red livery of the series’ protagonist, Lightning McQueen, complete with the yellow lightning bolt on the side as well as the grey, blue, and black scheme of his latest rival, Jackson Storm.
Joining the theme of their two cars will be their garages, which will also sport the same colour schemes as their two LMP3 racers.
“We are proud to welcome the Cars franchise to Craft-Bamboo Racing for the inaugural round of the FRD LMP3 Series. We are very happy to work with Disney-Pixar and hope that fans all across China will enjoy the collaboration,” said Richard Coleman, CEO of the Craft-Bamboo Racing team.
The new FRD LMP3 Series’ inaugural race will be held in China at the Zhejiang International Circuit before next competing in Shanghai on July 29th, and will act as a stepping stone to the infamous 24 Hours of Le Mans, with the winners of the championship receiving the free use of a Ligier JS P2 LMP2 car as well as free entry into the Asian Le Mans Series for the 2017-2018 Season. When competing in the Asian Le Mans Series, if the champion is also the champion of the FRD LMP3 Series, they will receive free entry to the 24 Hours of Le Mans as well as racing support costs being paid for by Ligier.
