Daryn Pittman to Pace Knoxville Nationals A-Main

Daryn Pittman finished off his Knoxville Nationals Qualifying Night with 485 of 500 total points and will lead the field this weekend.

It’s Race Day. And Daryn Pittman looks to take the weekend. Below, LWOS provides everything to know about tonight’s Knoxville Nationals Main Events.

RACEDAY INFORMATION

Distance: 0.5 mile
Capacity: 24,172
Start Time: 7:15pm CT
Format: Saturday Night will kick off with an E-Main. The top four finishers will transfer to the D-Main. The top four finishers of the D-Main transfer to the C-Main and so-on all the way to the A-Main.

RACEDAY STORYLINES

Daryn Pittman finished off his Knoxville Nationals Qualifying Night with 485 of 500 total points on Wednesday and will lead the 24-car field in the Knoxville Nationals A-Main on Saturday. Pittman finished 4th in the Wednesday’s Feature set the quick time and won his heat to earn the first spot in points.

Paige Polyak becomes first woman to win a Knoxville Nationals Heat Race

Wednesday Night, Paige Polyak took down the likes of Shane Stewart, Danny Dietrich, Sammy Swindell, and Brian Brown to become the First woman to win a Knoxville Nationals Heat Race. Although, she finished 22nd in the A-Main, and finished 53rd in points. She will start 2nd in the D-Main Saturday Night.

Is this the year that someone knocks Donny Schatz off of the Pedestal?

Donny Schatz was taken down by both Shane Stewart in Wednesday Night’s A-Main, and this might be a question that gets asked every year, but will this be the year Schatz is shut down?

He finished 5th in points at 476 and will start Saturday’s A-Main in 5th. He will be going for his sixth straight Knoxville Nationals win, and 10th in the last 11 years.
