Prime Video Inks Streaming Deal With Legacy College Program

After broadcasting NFL and NBA games, Amazon Prime has taken its first steps into the realm of college sports, as Prime Video announced Thursday that it has reached a multi-year agreement to broadcast Duke Blue Devil’s men’s basketball.

According to the release, the streaming service will air three Blue Devils games per season, all held at neutral venues.

Prime Goes To Vegas, MSG, Motown With Blue Devils

The first Blue Devils game to air on Prime Video will be November 25, as Duke travels to T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas to take on the UConn Huskies in a rematch of their Elite Eight encounter in this year’s NCAA tournament.  Prime Video will also get exclusive rights to Duke’s matchup with NCAA tournament champion Michigan on December 21 from Madison Square Garden in New York, and the final game of the schedule will be February 20, 2027 when the Blue Devils take on Gonzaga at Little Caesar’s Arena in Detroit.

“It’s exciting to bring this relationship with Duke University to life, and we’re looking forward to presenting this premium college basketball showcase to fans around the world next season and beyond,” Prime Video Head of Sports Partnerships Charlie Neiman said.  “Duke basketball games transcend the schedule, and the creation of this all-new offering gives fans more of what we all want, marquee matchups featuring the most successful programs in the nation.”

The Prime Video games are in addition to Duke’s television schedule with the ACC on ESPN.

“In addition to our outstanding partnership with ESPN, we are excited to work with Prime Video on this groundbreaking initiative,” said Duke Athletic Director Nina King.  “As Prime Video’s first college sports partner, this collaboration not only expands the global reach of Duke Men’s Basketball but also creates meaningful opportunities for our student-athletes in a way that reflects innovation and excellence.”

Amazon says the game will be produced by Prime Video, but did not announce any air talent for the games.
