NBC Unveils MLB Schedule For Network Broadcast, Peacock

With NBC taking over Sunday Night Baseball broadcasts this season, it was going to be curious to see how they broke down the Sunday slate for network, cable and streaming broadcasts.  Friday, the network unveiled their schedule for the 2026 season.

NBC To Have 27-Game Slate On Sunday Night

NBC announced they will broadcast a doubleheader on Opening Day, with the New York Mets hosting the Pittsburgh Pirates March 26 at 1 pm eastern, and the two-time defending World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers welcoming the Arizona Diamondbacks to Dodger Stadium at 8 pm eastern.  The Sunday Night Baseball slate will begin March 29 with the American League Central champion Cleveland Guardians heading to Seattle to take on the American League West division champion Mariners.

The full slate of Sunday Night Baseball contests are below, with all times being Eastern.  NBC will have special broadcasts not only on Opening Day, but also on July 5 (more details below) and September 7 for a Labor Day broadcast.

Peacock Also To Air 18 Games In Sunday Leadoff Package

MLB’s Sunday Leadoff package of games, which had aired on Roku the last couple of years, also returns to Peacock for this season.  18 games will be a part of this package beginning May 3, which is scheduled to have first pitch around noon local time.  11 of the 18 games will take place on the east coast, with seven being played in the Central, Mountain, or Pacific time zones.

July 5 Will Be “Star-Spangled Sunday” For NBC

On Sunday, July 5, NBC will offer coverage of all 15 MLB games taking place that day around the country in what they are calling “Star-Spangled Sunday.”  That will begin with Sunday Leadoff from Truist Park between the Braves and the Mets at 12:30 pm, and run all the way to the Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Angels from Anaheim at 9:30 pm.  Two games will air on NBC: the Sunday Leadoff matchup at 12:30 pm and Sunday Night Baseball between the Padres and Dodgers at 7:00 pm.
