ESPN: NBA analyst reveals how LeBron James could have a “beautiful end” to his story
ESPN, like every other sports media company, is eagerly anticipating when NBA legend LeBron James will decide in terms of the future of his career. Recently, the 22-time NBA All-Star informed the Los Angeles Lakers that he did not intend to re-sign with them. However, he is planning on playing what many expect will be his final NBA season in 2026-27.
The burning question, of course, is what team will be able to lure the four-time MVP and NBA Champion to their city. There has been some serious buzz about the Miami Heat, one of James’ former teams, especially after they acquired two-time league MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo in a trade with the Milwaukee Bucks.
Some think James may choose to end his career where it began, with his hometown Cleveland Cavaliers.

Obviously, James has nothing left to prove in his career. The league’s all-time leading scorer, he is believed by many to be the best basketball player of all time.
That being said, King James is not going to play for just anyone. He would like to compete for another championship. ESPN contributor David Dennis Jr. thinks that signing with the Golden State Warriors and teaming up with Steph Curry would be a “beautiful” way to end his career:
“What we recall from the Olympics was basketball beauty, was poetry on the floor. … It [would be] a beautiful end to [LeBron’s] story.”@DavidDTSS thinks LeBron and Steph in the Bay would be a DREAM TEAM 🏀 pic.twitter.com/X3kBmpiaoP
“It would be a Dream Team for a myriad of reasons. Let’s start with the fan perspective here. What we recall from the Olympics was basketball beauty, was poetry on the floor. It was LeBron James the ball to Stephen Curry right in the pocket before he even knew the ball was coming to him, to shoot, to come off those screens and nail those three’s.
“It was LeBron James and Steph Curry on the two-man game. LeBron coming off pick-and-rolls. LeBron in the dunker spot. Add Draymond Green in there. This is going to be, or potentially going to be a beautiful, beautiful game of basketball. And it’s going to be must-see wherever they go.”
He discussed the opportunity the league would have to have a Christmas Day game featuring James and Curry playing together on the Warriors.
But, more than that, Dennis said, “This is winning basketball, to put these veterans together who are still playing like they’re guys 10 years younger than them. Steph can still score 26 a game. LeBron can still give you 20 [points] and 10 [rebounds] on a given night.”
He then reminds fans of how Curry and James were rivals in the mid-2010’s, meeting in the NBA Finals year after year after year. In his opinion, the two teaming up would be a “beautiful end” to LeBron’s story in the league.
