After a six hour, 39 minute marathon Monday night in Los Angeles, you knew the sports world would react when Game 3 of the World Series finally came to an end after Freddie Freeman homered in the bottom of the 18th inning to give the Dodgers a 6-5 win over the Toronto Blue Jays.
Many members of the sports media understandably touted the play of Freddie Freeman, whose home run finally ended the game at almost 3 am eastern time.
FREDDIE FREEMAN!!!!! This man was never gonna buy another meal in LA after what he did in last year’s World Series but now his grandchildren won’t either.

Freddie Freeman. Mr. Walkoff.
The only player ever to hit 2 extra-inning walkoff home runs in a World Series.
It had to be him. https://t.co/WtlJhTrctU

Freeman’s brethren in the NBA had their eyes on the game as well long after the slate of their games came to an end.
Thank you Freddie Freeman 😂

Julie Stewart-Binks and the guys at Jomboy Media aptly describe how those of us on the east coast felt as the clock started getting dangerously close to 3:00.

Former Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia tipped his cap to reliever Will Klein, who threw four innings of one hit relief to earn the win.
Unbelievable performance from Will Klein!! 72 pitches in the World Series extras after never throwing more than 30 ever…4 scoreless innings in a postseason winning debut…October hero salute 🫡

Others mentioned how 89-year-old Sandy Koufax stuck through all 18 innings to watch the walkoff, and after the game per ESPN’s Jeff Passan, walked into the clubhouse to congratulate Klein.
Should we be concerned about Sandy Koufax, who is 90 years old, sitting through 17 innings?#WorldSeries #Dodgers pic.twitter.com/dthnoY0zhI
