NFL Network keeps the news coming from America’s most popular professional sports league despite it being the off-season. Indeed, the summer months leave NFL fans longing for highlights and reports of any kind from their favorite teams as they await the crisp Sundays of autumn and winter that see their favorite franchises take the field.
Fortunately, there are multiple occasions for fans to see their favorite teams begin preparing for the upcoming season. One of these is OTA’s, which is capped off by mandatory mini camp. The Chicago Bears just finished this last required session before breaking until late July, and one of their newest wide receivers came away impressed with Caleb Williams.
NFL Network gets new Chicago Bears WR Kalif Raymond to talk about Caleb Williams

During his segment with NFL Network, Kalif Raymond, who is new to the team, was asked about what it is like working with Williams. His praise could not have been higher:

“I love his job, man. So, it’s the last minute of practice, right? And we’re running a two-minute [drill]. And I don’t think we have another one going up, and he’s itching. He’s like, ‘Just me back out there.’ He’s talking to himself! ‘Just let me back out there.’
“And I’m thinking to myself, ‘Oh man, this guy has some ice in his veins!’ I mean, it’s two-minute OTA’s and he’s itching to get back out!
“But man, he’s been incredible to watch so far, making some throws I don’t think I could close my eyes and dream he could make them look that good.”
This is notable praise for Williams for a couple of reasons. First, the “ice in his veins” comment reflects on the Bears quarterback’s nickname, The Iceman, which he is trying to trademark. Of course, he was dubbed with this name after he led Chicago back to victory against the Green Bay Packers in the NFL Playoffs.
More importantly, though, Raymond’s description of how perfect the throws Williams is making is exactly what the Bears need to see from the third-year quarterback. Last year, he finished the season with a woeful 58.1% completion percentage. If he can improve that to right around the league average, Chicago is going to be in a good position to repeat as NFC North Champions.
