Tiger Woods Arrested After Rollover Car Crash

The PGA Tour headlines as of late have been filled with The Masters, and current Texas Children’s Houston Open. With that has also come an unfortunate re-emergence within the scene, in Tiger Woods. Woods, according to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, was involved in a rollover crash on Jupiter Island, Florida. The 82 time Tour winner has spent months already recovering from a ruptured Achilles Tendon and Back Surgery, now facing another hurdle. As reports were not immediately released to the public, it soon became clear what situation took place on behalf of Woods.

Back To Square One

With what most would consider a complete career within the sport for Woods, he has recently been seen speaking of making some sort of comeback. In particular, eyeing the Masters Tournament with some recent remarks on trying for competition.

“I want to play. I love the tournament,” Woods said. “I’m going to be there either way with The Loop that’s going up there, as well as the Champions Dinner. … We’ll see how it goes. I’ll be practicing, playing at home this week and keep trying to make progress.”

It turns out the 50-year-old won’t be in attendance after his recent mishap. After authorities finished their investigations early Friday morning, Woods was arrested on suspicion of DUI. According to reports, no one was injured after Woods struck another vehicle causing the reported roll over of his Land Rover.

Trouble In Paradise

This is not the first DUI arrest for the illustrious Tour member since 1996, but one of many in recent years. Dating back to 2021 where he drove off a coastal road in Los Angeles, causing leg and ankle injuries in the midst.

Another charge came back in 2017 while also in Florida, Woods was found asleep behind the wheel and later blamed it on a bad mixture of painkillers.

“[Tiger Woods] did a breathalyzer test, blew triple zeroes. But when it came time for us to ask for a urinalysis test, he refused. And so, he’s been charged with DUI, with property damage, and refusal to submit to a lawful test… No one was injured,” Martin County Sheriff’s Office said.

While it may seem like the star is shining bright in his TGL comeback, he is still human and facing yet another roadblock. Woods has been down this road personally and within the media countless times, it will be interesting to see if he has more left in the tank.
