Scottie Scheffler Surprises Jimmy Fallon with Claret Jug During ‘Tonight Show’ Monologue

Scottie Scheffler paid a surprise visit to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday night, just a day after winning the 2025 Open Championship at Royal Portrush. The newly crowned champion held the Claret Jug and walked on stage during Fallon’s monologue, catching both the host and audience off guard.

Scheffler Pays Tonight Show a Surprise Visit

Scottie Scheffler is still enjoying the spotlight after winning the 2025 Open Championship at Royal Portrush. On Monday night, the golf star brought his victory celebration to late-night television. During the monologue on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Scheffler made a surprise appearance, carrying the famous Claret Jug trophy with him.

“I want to say congratulations to the No. 1 golfer in the World, Scottie Scheffler,” Fallon said. “Man, he’s amazing. He just won the 2025 Open Championship and now he’s only one title away from the Career Grand Slam. Check out this picture of Scottie with the trophy,” he added and pointed to the screen.

However, a picture of Scheffler taking a swing was displayed on the screen instead. “No, sorry. That’s just a picture of Scottie. Can we see a photo with the trophy?” A picture of the Claret Jug was displayed this time. “No, I really want to see a picture of Scottie and the trophy,” Fallon insisted.

Just then, the curtains opened behind him and Scheffler walked onto the stage with a smile, holding the silver trophy in his hands. The audience immediately stood up and cheered. Fallon paused in surprise and then welcomed Scheffler with a handshake and a laugh.

Fallon was elated and asked Scheffler for a selfie to which he happily agreed. They turned their backs to the crowd in order to capture them in the selfie and the audience clapped and cheered, with many also pulling out their phones to capture the moment.

Scheffler Graces Happy Gilmore 2 Premiere

Earlier that same day, Scheffler also took the Claret Jug to the red carpet premiere of Happy Gilmore 2. The sequel to the classic golf comedy drew many celebrities and golf fans alike. Scheffler’s appearance with the trophy added an extra touch of excitement to the event. Many fans took pictures with him, and even some of the film’s stars stopped to admire the trophy.

It’s been a busy few days for Scheffler. His Open Championship win was his fourth major title and his second major victory this year. He has now joined some of golf’s greatest names by winning both the Masters and the Open before turning 30. He’s also part of an elite group of players with 15 or more PGA Tour wins before age 30, putting him alongside legends like Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus.
