Scottie Scheffler has officially become the first player to qualify for the 2025 U.S. Ryder Cup Team, securing his spot months ahead of the biennial event at Bethpage Black in Farmingdale, New York. The world No. 1 continues to dominate the golf landscape, and his early qualification is both a testament to his consistent excellence and a major boost for Team USA as they prepare for one of the sport’s most prestigious team competitions.
Scheffler Continues Remarkable Season With Ryder Cup Qualification
Scheffler’s place on the U.S. Ryder Cup team comes as no surprise. The world No. 1 has enjoyed a remarkable season on the PGA Tour, which includes an impressive five-shot victory at the 2025 PGA Championship at Quail Hollow, earning his third career major title. That win further cemented his status as the top-ranked golfer in the world and demonstrated the form and mentality that make him such an important asset in team play. Scheffler currently leads the U.S. Ryder Cup standings with 25,918.25 Ryder Cup points, more than doubling the total of his nearest challenger, Xander Schauffele.
This will mark Scheffler’s third consecutive Ryder Cup appearance. He made his debut in 2021 at Whistling Straits and returned in 2023 at Marco Simone Golf and Country Club. His steady performance and calm demeanor under pressure have quickly made him a mainstay of American Ryder Cup lineups, and his presence provides both competitive firepower and locker-room stability. His ability to deliver under the brightest lights has not gone unnoticed by fans, teammates, or captains.

Scottie Scheffler is ready to do whatever it takes to secure success at the Ryder Cup. The 28-year-old is eager to play in front of the fans.
“Representing the United States at the Ryder Cup has been one of the greatest honors of my career, and I look forward to doing so for a third time this September,” Scheffler said. “I will do whatever it takes to help our team reclaim the Cup and cannot wait to play in front of the passionate New York spectators at Bethpage Black.”
The 45th Ryder Cup will take place from September 25–28, 2025, at the iconic Bethpage Black Course, a venue known for its challenging layout and raucous New York crowds.
