Max Homa Welcomes Second Child, Austin Homa to the World

Max Homa has announced the arrival of his second child, Austin. Homa and his wife, Lacey, shared the happy news with fans and friends on their Instagram accounts, with the PGA Tour star calling his wife a “rock star.” Homa revealed before the 3M Open that they were expecting their second child and joked that he really needed to win because he wanted to return home to his pregnant wife.

Our Hearts Are Full: Homa Excited About Birth of Second Child

The six-time PGA Tour winner became a dad for the first time in October 2022, after he tied the knot with Lacey in 2019. The couple first met online in 2013. The 34-year-old shared the personal news with an emotional announcement on his Instagram page on Friday. The post was accompanied by several pictures of the newborn and a video of Lacey leaving the hospital with Austin in her arms.

“My wife is a rockstar and Austin is very unsure of Cam (rightfully so). Our hearts are so full,” he wrote on Instagram.

Homa has previously talked about how fatherhood has helped him see golf differently. While the 34-year-old admits that winning tournaments and making cuts will always be important, he also added that they no longer define his happiness. Instead, spending time with his family and watching his child grow has taken center stage.

Homa Expected To Take Time Off

The timing of Austin’s birth comes during a busy stretch in the golf season. While he has not yet shared his exact plans for returning to tournament play, it is expected that he will take some time away to be with his wife and children.

Homa has been competing regularly in 2025 and was in strong form earlier this year, but his form has since dipped. The dip in form led to him parting ways with his long-time caddie, Joe Greiner, so the pair could preserve their friendship. He started the year by announcing he had switched coaches and had also changed his equipment manufacturer.

He also slipped from the top 10 to 116th in the official world golf ranking after missing eight cuts this year. The 34-year-old will now be hoping to return to winning ways following the birth of his second child, and he will likely make the most of his time off to recharge and return to form. The American was a standout performer for the 2023 US Ryder Cup team and was widely tipped as a player to watch in the major championships, but he stands little or no chance of making the US Ryder Cup team this time. He also missed out on the FedEx Cup playoffs after recording a 111th-place finish.
